Your statutory rights (UK Consumer Rights Act 2015)
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, every product we sell must meet three standards:
- Of satisfactory quality — free from minor defects, durable, safe, and in good appearance and finish.
- Fit for purpose — suitable for the purpose supplied and for any particular purpose you made known to us before buying.
- As described — matching any description, sample or model shown at the point of sale.
If a product falls short, you are entitled to:
- A full refund if you reject the item within 30 days of delivery (short-term right to reject).
- A repair or replacement within the first 6 months (we carry the burden of proof that the product wasn't faulty on arrival).
- A partial or full refund if repair or replacement is impossible, disproportionate, or not completed in a reasonable time.
Nothing in this policy limits your statutory rights. If our policy is less generous than the Consumer Rights Act, the Act wins.
How to return an item
- Sign in to your account and open the order. Select Start a return and pick a reason.
- We email you a prepaid Royal Mail / courier label within one working day (faulty items) or with return instructions (change of mind).
- Repack the item in its original packaging. Do not stick postage labels directly onto manufacturer boxes — use an outer bag or outer box.
- Drop off at your nearest parcel shop or book a pickup from the label email. Keep your proof of postage.
- We inspect on arrival and refund to your original payment method within 5 working days. You'll receive an email confirmation.

Items we cannot accept back
- Consumables that have been opened or used (paint, adhesives, bulbs once installed, treated timber once cut).
- Bespoke or made-to-measure items (custom cut blinds, bespoke furniture) — unless faulty.
- Hygiene-sensitive products once the seal is broken (respirator filters, personal protective equipment).
- Gift cards and digital vouchers.
This does not affect your statutory right to return faulty goods under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Refund timing
Refunds are issued to the original payment method. Once we've processed the return:
- Debit / credit card: 3-5 working days to appear on statement.
- PayPal: within 1 working day.
- Klarna / Pay in 3: see Klarna's return timing rules.
Damaged in transit
Report damaged deliveries within 48 hours of receipt to hello@homedeal.co.uk. Photos of the packaging and product help us file the courier claim and get a replacement out fast. Keep the original packaging until we confirm next steps.
